Third Party Products Supporting SBIG Cameras and Accessories

SBIG has always strived to offer more than just a camera to our customers. Support, integrated accessories, software, etc., are often as important to the customer as the original piece of hardware. But it is impossible for one company to do everything and do it all well. Over the years we have teamed up with other companies such as Software Bisque to provide more than we could alone. We have also endeavored to provide access to third party software and hardware supporting SBIG cameras. This has included special offers and discounts on third party products in some cases. Along these lines, we are pleased to announce three more third party products that we will be offering in support of our imaging systems as an accommodation to our customers.

The New CCD Astronomy, by Ron Wodaski.

This is an excellent source of information about CCD imaging and a wonderful tutorial on the basics of CCD imaging. It includes everything you need to know to get started. We now stock this book and will make it available at a discount to SBIG customers. List price is $49.95, SBIG camera purchasers may add this book for $39.95.

Astrodon Filters from Don Goldman.

In addition to our Custom RGB set for color imaging, we now also stock 1.25" Astrodon filters for customers who have purchased or are thinking of purchasing the CFW-10, ten-position filter wheel for the ST-7/8/9/10/2000 cameras. We will offer two sets: (1) An "Expanded Color Set" of 6 filters including one narrow band H-alpha filter: Luminance, Red, Green, Blue, Clear, H-alpha, and (2) A "Super Set" of 8 filters including three narrow band filters: Luminance, Red, Green, Blue, Clear, H-alpha, [OIII], and [SII]. One of the benefits of the Astrodon filters is that the narrow band filters are parfocal with the LRGB filters and are a natural match for the larger CFW-10 filter wheel. SBIG will offer a package discount of $95 when an Expanded Color Set or Super Set of Astrodon filters is purchased with a CFW-10 filter wheel.

CCD Autopilot also supports the self-guiding features of SBIG cameras as well as the AO-7 adaptive optics.

A free 60 day trial version of CCD Autopilot will be included with all new SBIG cameras starting May 1, 2005. A certificate for a $50 discount will be included for those who like the program and wish to purchase the full retail version.
