UV + IR Blocking Filter and
T-thread Ring Filter Holder Accessories

SBIG is pleased to announce two new accessories: A high quality, UV+IR Blocking filter and a replacement T-thread ring with internal threads for 1.25" filters.

The UV+IR blocking filter will be a supplied accessory for the ST-2000XCM color camera, however, it works equally well on any camera where one wants to suppress the out of focus UV and IR light from an achromat or typical camera lens. This filter will not only improve the color balance of the ST-2000XCM but it will improve the star images taken through a common camera lens on any ST series cameras (ST-7 through ST-10). The sharp cutoff at 400 and 700 nm, and high transmission in visible wavelengths, makes it an ideal "luminance" filter for LRGB color imaging. The glass is optically polished and AR coated. This filter will be included with all ST-2000XCM cameras beginning in July, 2004. Owners of ST-2000XCM cameras bought before July 2004 may obtain a free filter by sending in a copy of your original invoice and your ST-2000XCM camera serial number. The T-thread ring with internal 1.25" threads is a replacement part for the existing T-thread ring in any ST series camera. The new ring is 0.080" thicker and has a 1.25" aperture at the bottom with internal threads to hold a 1.25" filter cell. The addition of the threads and a 1.25" filter will not cause vignetting on ST series cameras as the camera window is 1" in diameter. This allows one to install the new luminance filter, or any other filter such as an H-alpha filter, over the camera window and still have female T-threads available for connecting the camera to any male t-threaded adapter such as the CLA7 camera lens adapter. This accessory part is available for all models of ST-7, ST-8, ST-9, ST-10 and ST-2000 cameras that have a front plate "D" block and T-thread ring insert.
