Announcement
ST-4 and ST-6 Retired
March 1, 2001

ST-4:  After more than 10 years in production, it has become increasingly difficult to find some parts essential for making the ST-4 autoguider.   In our last purchase of parts we exhausted the supply of several critical pieces needed to make this product.  These critical parts are no longer available and replacements cannot be found.  We have made our last production run of ST-4s in February with the remaining parts we have been able to buy.  We will keep some spares for repairs but it is with great regret we must announce the retirement of this product which launched SBIG into the astronomical CCD camera business.  We do have some ST-4s on the shelf from this last production run but when these are gone - there will be no more.  So if you have been thinking about an ST-4 autoguider, now is definitely the time to get one while they last [Update April 11, 2001:  We have sold out our remaining stock of ST-4s].

ST-6:  Several months ago we stopped taking orders for the ST-6 in part for similar reasons and also because of the popularity of the ST-9E as our customers' current "big pixel" camera of choice.
