KAF-1602E CCD

Industrial versions of all of our cameras are available.  The following imaging camera models include special features for industrial and scientific applications such as Raman and Imaging Spectroscopy, Densitometry, Microscopy, Chemiluminescence, Epifluorescence and other Medical imaging applications.  The 3 megapixel ST-10XMEI has small 6.8 micron photosites and very high QE making it well suited for high resolution imaging in the spectral range from 400 to 1000 nm.  A lower cost alternative for high resolution requirements is the ST-2000XMI with a 2 megapixel CCD and 7.4 micron photosites.  Both of these megapixel cameras have good UV response and can be optimized for detection of UV wavelengths.   The spectroscopy binning modes allow the user to bin the pixels in vertical columns, accumulate them, and display the spectral lines in an intensity vs. pixel position format. Using Kestrel spectroscopy software the display can be calibrated for wavelength. The spectroscopy binning modes and graphic drivers are furnished in a ROM and software package that comes with the imaging camera.

High Resolution Spectrograph

We recently introduced a High Resolution Spectrograph / ST-7XE combination which is useful for point source remote spectroscopy.   This system is the only spectrograph available with the ability to see the source on an embedded CCD for aligning the source to the slit.

In addition to our existing line of industrial cameras, we have recently developed the following new items:

1.  An industrial low light video camera with Digital Signal Processor that provides built-in processing power for autonomous functions.

2.  Beam Stabilization System:  An industrial STV video camera controlling a high speed tilt-tip mirror that will hold a point of light locked on a pixel.  This will be a low cost high accuracy stabilization system.

All of the imaging cameras in this catalog were developed and manufactured within the engineering and manufacturing departments at SBIG. As a result we understand these products and how they work. Some of the software and hardware features in the following products were originally requested by our O.E.M. customers and developed at SBIG for their application.  We are interested in your application for low light level imaging. We urge you to contact us if you have a special application.  No other competitive camera comes close in cost vs. performance of these camera models which offer excellent response at a very affordable price.

The new ST-402ME, ST-1603ME and ST-3200ME cameras were developed specifically for labratory, industrial and life sciences applications.  These low cost multi-megapixel cameras have extraordinarily high QE, comparable to thinned back-illuminated CCDs, at a fraction of the cost.  USB2.0 electronics makes transfer times reasonable for such high density detectors.  The ST-1603ME is 1.5 Megapixels at 9u and the ST-3200ME is 3.2 megapixels at 6.8u.  The lowest cost ST-402ME camera is 765 x 510 pixels t 9u.  Download time for a full frame ST-1603ME image is ~ 2 seconds.  Most importantly, these cameras are very reasonably priced.   The ST-402ME uses the same imagine CCD as the ST-7XMEI (below).   The ST-1603ME camera uses the same imaging CCD as the ST-8XMEI (below).  The ST-3200ME camera uses the same imaging CCD as the ST-10XMEI camera (below).  All three are are made with a smaller, lighter body, and faster USB2.0 electronics.  The imaging CCD is centered in the camera body for better balance.  A c-mount lens adpater is available for attaching c-mount camera lenses as seen in the photo above.   The cameras operate from 12VDC.  A universal 90-240 volt AC adapter is available.
